ROAD SAFETY CLUB ACTIVITIES 2024-25

 

Road safety activities refer to the various initiatives, programs, training sessions and awareness campaigns designed to educate and inform individuals and communities about the importance of safe behavior on the road. To serve the purpose of road safety awareness a club has been working in the college since 2021. The club has organized different following activities in the college for the session 2024-25.

  1. INTRODUCTORY SESSION FOR ROAD SAFETY GROUP MEMBERS

An introductory session was organized for the “Road Safety Members” on 02 November, 2024. In this session Principal Dr. Susheel Bassi, Program Officer Dr. Vishal Thakur, Road committee members and the students introduced themselves to each other.

 

  1. ROAD SAFETY OATH

Road safety Oath taking Ceremony has been organized on 4th November, 2024. 60 students and staff members took the pledge to obey the road safety rules and to educate the other people about the road safety.

 

 

  1. ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS RALLY

A road safety awareness rally was organized on 8th November. 2024, with the motto “Follow Rules, Save Lives” to promote safe driving habits and reduce traffic accidents. 99 students participated in the rally. The rally started from the college premises to Civil Hospital Jwalaji in which all the students of the college participated.

 

  1. ROAD SAFETY COUNSELING SESSIONS

      Road safety counseling sessions have been organized by RSC. Dr. Vishal Thakur (Nodal officer), Road Safe Club,  Dr Anil, Assistant Professor, Commerce, Sh. Krishsan Kumar, Health Counselor, Jawali, Kangra and  Sh. Mayank Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police; Dehra, Kangra, shared very valuable information regarding Road Safety with  the students. 198 college students attended the above said events.

 

  1. PARKING ASSISTANCE

    The event organized on 18th December, 2024. The students of RS Club maintained the arrangement of vehicles in the college campus and also advised people to wear helmets and seat belts.  22 students actively participated in the event.

 

  1. POSTER MAKING AND SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION

Slogan writing and poster making activities have been organized on 19th November, 2024 for the students and their posters and slogan were being used to be displayed at different occasion to spread the awareness. 48 students participated in the event. The program was organized under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushil Kumar Bassi. Road Safety Program Officer and all the professors of the college were also present on this occasion.

 

 

  1. DECLAMATION AND ESSAY WRITHING

          An essay writing competition is organized in this series on 2nd December, 2024. Event has been organized on the theme ‘Road Safety and Rules’. All the participants under the super vision of club members presented their views to the audience of 250 college students. 47 students participated in this competition.

 

 

 

 

 

8.      RANGOLI

       The Road Safety Club of Government College Jwalaji on 10th January, 2025 organized a “Rangoli, the objective is to make all the students aware on the topic of road safety. Students of BA, B.Sc, and B.Com and PGDCA streams of the college participated in the competition. The title of the competition was on the topic of “Road Safety”. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Principal of the college, Dr. Sushil Kumar Bassi.

     On 7th January, 2025, an awareness rally was organized at Government   College, Jwalaji, by the Road Safety Club. The objective of the rally was to make people aware on the different issues of road safety. The rally started from the college premises to Civil Hospital Jwalaji in which all the students of the college participated. The program was conducted under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Sushil Kumar Bassi in which Program Officer Dr. Vishal Thakur and all other professors were present.

 

 

 

  1. SKIT ON ROAD SAFETY

                A SKIT was presented by the road safety members on 29th November, 2024 to enlighten the importance and rules of road safety. The theme of the SKIT was to explain the various causes of accidents. 12 road safety members participated in the SKIT, the aim of which was to make people and students aware about the causes of accident.
