RED RIBBON CLUB

 

Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which, students will spread awareness over HIV / AIDS. It is a student-led movement aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and promoting healthy lifestyles. 

 Goal

The club’s primary goals include reducing new HIV infections among young people, educating students about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and encouraging voluntary blood donation. 

Objectives

  • To educate students about HIV/AIDS, STIs, and related issues through various activities like awareness campaigns, lectures, and workshops. 
  • To increase awareness on sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
  • To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change by developing their skills on leadership and team building.
  • To organize awareness events, distributing pamphlets, and utilizing social media to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
  • To encourage blood donations.
  • To serve as forums for students to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
  • To work in collaboration with Health Professionals to provide accurate information to students.
  • To Support People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA):
  • To participate in community events and partnering with local organizations to extend their reach and impact.
